LAGL — Linguistic Catalog of Authors and Works
This Linguistic Catalog is part of the Linked Ancient Greek and Latin (LAGL) project and is populated with forms deriving from the linguistic extraction and annotation of expressions about authors and works in ancient Greek sources.
This resource shows tokens extracted from the LAGL Catalog of Authors and Works, which collects data from the catalogs of the Digital Athenaeus and the Digital Harpocration projects. Forthcoming versions of the catalog will allow to search Greek forms and will be enriched with data from other sources, such as the works of Clement of Alexandria and the lexicon of the Suda.
Search Fields
- Author name: author name in the Latinized form according to the TLG Canon and the Perseus Catalog (e.g., Xenophon).
- Author CTS URN: author CTS URN according to the Perseus Catalog (e.g., urn:cts:greekLit:tlg0032). Authors not yet in the TLG Canon and in the Perseus Catalog have been assigned new numbers with the prefix lagl (e.g., Ammonius: urn:cts:greekLit:lagl0023).
Output Fields
- SOURCE: source text from which data has been extracted (so far Athenaeus of Naucratis and Valerius Harpocration).
- CTS URN: CTS URN with the string from the source text corresponding to the extracted and annotated token. Links bring to the CTS URN Retriever of the Digital Athenaeus and the Digital Harpocration projects to visualize tokens in the text of the Deipnosophists and the Lexicon of the Ten Orators.
- TOKEN: extracted and annotated token.
- LEMMA: lemma of the extracted and annotated token.
- NE: Named Entity class of the extracted and annotated token (NE classes: LOC, LOCderiv, ORG, ORGderiv, OTH, PER, PERderiv).
- AUTHOR: CTS URN of the author (for tokens corresponding to author names). Links bring to the LAGL Catalog of Authors and Works.
- WORK: CTS URN of the work (for tokens corresponding to work titles or descriptions of their content). Links bring to the LAGL Catalog of Authors and Works.
